More TouRabu to love

Many man not know, but GSC nendoroids are heavily female character dominated. While not a bad thing by any means, we also like cute figurines of out favorite male characters! Thankfully Good Smile has a new section called Orange Rouge.

Orange Rouge is exclusively dedicated to making figurines of male characters. With the rising popularity of social game Touken Ranbu, Orange Rouge has noticed and picked it up.

Currently there are nendoroids of Mikazuki Munechika who was first in the series

Followed by the small fox Kogitsunemaru,

squad leader Kashuu Kiyomitsu,

 the surprising Tsurumaru Kuninaga,

and the handsome one-eyed Shokudaikiri Mitsutada

with the success of these boys ( as told by the upcoming re-release of Munechika in December) the series will be releasing even more boys for your team.

Good Smile has shown images of a proto-type for Yagen Toushiro and painted Ichigo Hitofuri
ImageImage

these aren't the only boys either. While we haven't seen a proto-type yet we have Doudanuki Masakuni and well as the evr beloved Hotarumaru on the way as well!

If all goes well we will see a figure for ever sword boy. I know there's a few I'm excitedly waiting for. Soon you can assemble your own squad of boys to do battle.!

Etotama's Nya-tan and pre-order bonus.

New nendoroid from the anime, Etotama, Nya-tan!
Nya-tan is a sweet litle catgirl who one day hopes to be apart of the zodiac.

Nya-tans cute little cat hat reminiscent of the characters from Digicharat would be a cute addition to any collection! She comes with a cute smiling excpression as well as a sillier smirk that'd be great to exchange with other nendoroids!

Nyatan also comes with a pretty sweet bonus although many may not be happy about the method in which it will be received.

Pre-orders from the Good Smile shop will be selected at random to receive a bonus of one of the interchangeable faces drawn by the cast.

While I would definitely love to see more amazing preorders like this, it's kind of a bummer that'd it's a random draw so you may not receive the bonus at all. Either way if you love the characters it's a great chance to get some exclusive item.

Preorders for Nya-tan open today, Novermber 5th through December2nd.

Cu-Poches x Nendoroids

Do you want to have more fun with your nendoroids? Do you need something else to consume your life and money? Check out Cu-poches , also know as Cute Poches which are just as fun as nendos. Here I will go over the differences between the two and talk about compatability between the figurines.

Cu-poches are in a sense larger nendoroids. Cupches, just like nendos come with varying accessories and multiple face plates  just like the nendoroids do, for a variety of expressions. Cu-poches do have some very telling differences though that the nendoroids can't quite compete with.

1. Size
Cu-poches and nendoroids are both non-scale figures but the cu-poches are quite a bit larger. if you're lookign for a slightly bigger display piece these are fun to play around with and can even act as big sisters or brothers to the nendoroid figurines. Because they are larger though dioramas and accessories used by nendoroids don't quite fit the. It shouldn't be a problem to scale up though, and Cu-poches usually come with their own sets of accessories and also have extra sets  of clothing and food that you can purchase separately.

2. Articulation

While this seems like a shot at nendoroids it's really not that big of a deal. while cu-poches have more joints which lead to more poses, nendoroids often come with extra sets of arms and legs for varying poses and it shouldn't be much of a hassle to find cute poses for them although you have more freedom with the former. In the defense of nendoroids, some people don't like the look of all the joints that are show on Cu-poches. Nendoroids although less poseable have a more seemless and uniform look to them. GSC has recently been releasing new super moveable edition nendoroids with more joints in the legs to keep them on equal ground with Poches.

3. Stands
both figures come with stands, but nendoroids usually come with a hole in the back of the figurine where a stand is fitted into it, while Cu-poches have magnets in the feet which allows them to stand alone. This can be a plus or a minus depending on how you personally feel, but it can be difficult to get the begs in new nendoroid backs.

4. Win-Win

One thing that is cool about both lines is, although not 100% compatable, you can swap parts between the two. Cu-poche doesn't have the coverage of characters that nendoroid has but same goes for nendoroid. There are some characters that are produced by both but you can come up with some really cute and unique characters by swapping between the two? If you want a larger Miku, you can alway pop her head on a Cu-poche body! No nendoroid Hidamari Sketch characters, just take the Cu-Poche head. there's tons of fun to be had with both and it ultimately comes down to just buying whichever you think is the cutest!

Saitama up for Pre-order!

Do you guys like One-Punch Man?
Starting as webcomic, One Punch man has quickly surged in popularity. The silly little comic with a less than fantastic looking main character will surprise you with how great it is.With the release of the new anime it's no shock that Saitama would get a few figurine releases.   Now you can have your own Saitama to defeat all the baddies with a one hit K-O! Saitama is currently up for Pre-order on Ami-Ami and he comes with his typical careless face as with his more serious angry face for action poses.

Here are some fantastic shots from Kahotan's blog:

Bonus:

Saitama comes with a Vaccine Man Acrylic stand!

Displaying Your Nendoroids

Ahhh! What's better then collecting cute little nendoroids? Showing them off of Course! This post is going to be about some of the best ways to display your figures. Although There's nothing wrong with just sitting them on a shelf, it's nice to have them somewhere they can be protected, specially if you have any pets or children in your home.

Glass Cabinets

One of the cheapest and most easily customizable starting display cases for nendoroids seems to bethe unanimously agreed upon detolf.  The detolf is a glass cabinet from Ikea that retails at about $70 USD.

DETOLF Glass-door cabinet IKEA With a glass-door cabinet, you can show off as well as protect your glassware or your favorite collection. The detolf has 4 shelves and stands at 16 3/4 x 64 1/8" with a 13 pound shelf load. this is great for storing  multiples figures and should provide ample room for a new collection. The best part of these shelves are that they are easily customizable with led panels as well.

There's many different ways you can instal lighting, here's a tutorial  by Rinnzler.

Dioramas

Besides displaying your figures in a sterile glass case, some people enjoy creating more dynamic and interactive displays with their nendoroids. here's where dioramas come in. you can convert a shelf from your book case into a simply diorama with some expanded polystyrene, or cardboard or you can create individual stand alone dioramas to display around your room. GSC does have some official nendoroid playsets but you can also DIY your own.

If you need any accessories or furniture, Sylvanian family toys are the perfect scale for nendoroids.

Tony Stark & Elsa : weighton

One of the best things about nendoroids is that they have so many interchangeable parts. it brings much more life to the figure instead of having it stay in one static pose all the time. What is even more fun, is to make cute scenes or even custom figures by switching out the pieces on each nendo. Most nendoroids above #100 are all compatible with each other, which makes for some very interesting pictures.  Check out some swaps below!
